D.C. Foreign Non Profit Corporation
Foreign Non Profit Corporation Name

The name must contain the word "Corporation," "Company," "Incorporated," "Limited,"
or an abbreviation thereof. The name shall not be the same as or deceptively similar
to name of a domestic corporation, authorized foreign corporation, or reserved name
already existing in the district.
General Instructions for Preparing and Filing Application
• International Corporations must:
Attach an original copy of their corporation documents (Articles of
Incorporation or Charter Documents) from the office of the registrar
of companies. Also be sure to include an official statement that
verifies that the corporation is still in existence and is in good legal
standing.
• If the Articles of Incorporation or the charter document are not in the
English language they must be translated into English by someone at a
United States Foreign Consulate or Embassy or by someone duly
certified by a government agency to translate Foreign languages.
The Application must be accompanied by a recent-dated (within the last six
months). State-certified copy of the corporation’s articles of incorporation
(Charter) and all amendments thereto. This certified copy must bear the
original signature of Incorporation of the proper authority (Secretary of
State) in the State or Country, Articles submitted from a foreign-language
speaking country must have an English translation of the articles and all
amendments, which bears an original certification by a certified translator.
