Non Profit Corporation Name

The name of the corporation shall contain the word "Corporation,"
"Incorporated," "Limited," or an abbreviation thereof. The name may contain
the word "Company" or the abbreviation "Co.," if "Company" or "Co." is not
immediately preceded by the word "and" or the symbol "&." The name must not
be the same, or deceptively similar to, any other reserved or registered
names of another corporation. The name cannot use certain enumerated words
relating to banking, savings and loans, or insurance.
The Articles of Incorporation may be delivered to the Secretary of State in advance,
for filing as of any specified date (and any given time on such date) within thirty
days after the time of delivery. Requests should be made in writing and must be
submitted along with the Articles of Incorporation.
Upon filing with our office, you will receive a certified copy of the Articles and a
Certificate of Incorporation. Within thirty (30) days after filing the Articles of
Incorporation with the Secretary of State’s office, a multiple original of Articles (or a
copy certified by the Secretary of State), and a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation
must be filed with the office of the recorder of mortgages in the parish where the
corporation’s registered office is located.
