• The name must contain the words “Registered Limited Liability Partnership,” “Limited Liability Partnership, or the abbreviation “L.L.P.,” “R.L.L.P.,” “LLP,” or “RLLP”.

APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION must be filed with the Secretary of State.

The original executed application, along with the filing fee, should be filed with the Corporations Division.

Each Registered Limited Liability Partnership must file an annual report with the Secretary of State by the fifteenth day of the fourth month following the close of the Registered Limited Liability Partnership’s fiscal year. The fee for the annual report is $200. The form for this report is prescribed by the Secretary of State and may be obtained by calling the Corporations Division at (919)807-2225, or it may be downloaded from the Internet at http://www.sosnc.com.
 
• APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION containing the following information
  • The name of the partnership
  • The street address of the partnership’s principal office
  • The name of the initial registered agent
  • The street address and county of the initial registered office of the limited liability partnership
  • The mailing address, if different from the street address, of the initial registered office
  • The fiscal year end of the partnership
  • This registration will be effective upon filing, unless a date and/or time is specified
