    Foreign Non Profit Corporation Name
     
    • The law requires the corporate name to include the word "corporation," "incorporated," "company," "limited" or an abbreviation of one of these words. If the foreign corporate name does not include one of these words it may be added for use in South Dakota.
    An ORIGINAL and ONE EXACT OR CONFORMED COPY of the application must be submitted together with a currently dated CERTIFICATE OF EXISTENCE duly acknowledged by the Secretary of State or other official having custody of corporate records in the state or country under whose laws it is incorporated.
     
    • Application for Certificate of Authority containing the following information
      • The name of the corporation.
      • The state under the laws of which it is incorporated and the address of its principal office in the state or country under the laws of which it is incorporated
      • The date of incorporation and the period of duration
      • The street address, or a statement that there is no street address, of its proposed registered office in the State of South Dakota and the name of the proposed registered agent in the State of South Dakota at that address
      • The purposes of the corporation in engaging in business in this state
      • The names and respective addresses of its directors and officers
      • The application must be signed, in the presence of a notary public, by the chairman of the board of directors, or by the president or by another officer.
