Date: 10/27/2005 | Category: Business | Author: Diana Heeb Bivona

Delaware has always been considered one of the top ranking “business-friendlyâ€? states in which to incorporate. More than 600,000 business entities have their legal home in Delaware, including more than 50 percent of all U.S. publicly traded companies and 58 percent of Fortune 500 businesses. What makes Delaware so popular with businesses? Several reasons are usually cited including the ease of incorporating, their business-friendly state government climate, fast service from the Secretary of State’s Office, and their court system.

For the fourth year in a row, Delaware has held the unique distinction of having the #1 Ranked Legal System in the Nation according to an annual survey provided by the Chamber of Commerce. Why is that such a big deal for businesses? Well, if you ever find yourself in a legal situation that requires court intervention, then you would definitely benefit from a legal system like Delaware’s which was rated as being both fair and balanced.
