Date: 03/20/2007 | Category: Business | Author: developers

Our office program (virtual office) took off and as a side effect our boards with company names got comletely full.

So we said goodbye to our old boards and installed new digital display.

What are advantages?

We save a lot of space. It looks good and with the prices of LCD displays falling it didn’t cost a lot of money.

Just little advice to other small business owners out there. When I typed digital signage players in Google I got a lot of results. The problem is that almost every company didn’t display information about pricing. So I was filling out forms and answering questions. Then I had to talk to tons of sales people. At the end I found out that digital signage players are very expensive. I got quotes in the range of several thousands and often with additional monthly fees.

That seemed too excesive for our small office and one simple board. So I bought refurbished laptop. The list of companies is simple web page, which is automaticaly updated from our CRM (customer relationship software). No extra work to add new company name on the display. The total investment in range of $600. I think that is very cool!
